How to Choose A Veterinary Practice

The choice of a veterinary clinic is one of the most important decisions you will make for the health of your pet. How do you know which clinic will best meet your pet's needs?

Recommendations for choosing a clinic include:

TALK to other people who bring their pets to the practice. What do they like and dislike? Would they recommend the clinic to others?

VISIT the clinic. How does it make you feel? Does it smell and look clean?

MEET with the doctors. Do you feel comfortable with them? How do they treat your pet?

MEET and observe the staff. Do they seem to care about the people and pets who visit?

ASK QUESTIONS. What education does the staff receive? What is done for pain management? What surgical practices are used and why?

FIND OUT. Is an independent review of the clinic performed on a regular basis? Is the clinic accredited and how long has it been accredited?

COMMUNICATE YOUR EXPECTATIONS and make sure you feel they will be met.Meeting your needs and the needs of your pet should be the clinic's primary focus. Your pet deserves the best!
