Homemade Cat & Dog Treats

Catnip Crunch Treats for Cats
- 1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
- 1/4 Cup Soy Flour
- 1 Teaspoon Catnip
- 1 Egg
- 1/3 Cup Milk
- 2 Tablespoon Wheat Germ
- 1/3 Cup Powdered Milk
- 1 Tablespoon Unsulfurated Molasses
- 2 Tablespoon Butter

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350° F. Mix dry ingredients together. Add molasses, egg, butter and milk. Roll out flat onto oiled cookie sheet and cut into small, cat bite-sized pieces. Bake for 20 minutes. Let cool and store in tightly sealed container.



Cheese Bites Treats for Cats
- 3/4 Cup White Flour
- 3/4 Cup shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 5 Tablespoons grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1/4 Cup Plain Sour Cream
- 1/4 Cup Cornmeal

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350° F. Combine cheeses and Sour cream. Add flour and cornmeal. If needed, add a small amount of water to create a nice dough. Knead dough into a ball and roll to 1/4 inch. Cut into one inch sized pieces and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 25 minutes. Makes 2 dozen.



Chicken Biscuits for Dogs
- 2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
- 2/3 Cup Yellow Cornmeal
- 1/2 Cup Sunflower Seeds- Shelled
- 2 Tablespoons Corn Oil
- 1/2 Cup Chicken Broth
- 2 Eggs
- 1/4 Cup Low-Fat Milk
- 1 Egg Beaten

Directions:
Heat oven to 350° F. In a large bowl, mix together flour, cornmeal and seeds. Add oil, broth and egg mixture. The dough should be firm. Let sit 15-20 minutes. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough 1/4 inch thick. Cut into shapes and brush with beaten egg. Bake for 25-35 minutes, until golden brown. Remove and cool. Store in airtight container.



Peanut Butter Biscuits for Dogs
- 2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
- 1 Cup Chunky Peanut Butter
- 1 Cup Milk

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350° F. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk, then add to dry ingredients and mix well. Place dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness and use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Bake for 20 minutes on a greased baking sheet until golden brown. Cool on a rack, then store in airtight container. Bake carefully - these treats can burn easily.
